So much of T20 batting is premeditated that the novelty of it alone is enough to cause massive issues. The fact that it really shouldn't work is what makes it work.

It is a bit like seeing someone from a newsreel bowling. I've tended to think from watching that older spinners often bowled slower. Probably easier to get away with when bats were slightly carved fence palings. It's actually quite interesting to watch.

Hurricanes right back in this now. Pope's bowling hasn't been terrible but he's neither got the pace off the pitch of a quicker bowler like Rashid nor has his flight been difficult like Boyce's.
