***Official*** England Tour of the West Indies: December 2023

Norwood's on Fire
Maybe you could have a word with that Coach you've donated to us....what a bull**** interview this is.

"We really could not have got many more lessons from this tour," said Mott after defeat in the fifth T20.

"West Indies thoroughly deserved their win but we've had some really good performances here.

"There's some exciting things in the pipeline."
Tbf two of the T20 performances were excellent and Phil Salt was a huge positive. Don't think there's that much to get wound up over. Standard 'we will learn from this' stuff.

Suspect the WC will be make or break for him and Jos. I don't see any sense in changing now.

That ball Motie bowled to get Salt bowled was good enough to get a prime Ponting out. It was that good.

Played for the arm ball but it pitched and spun just a little to beat the bat. The result was the icing on top. Knocked the top of middle stump.

That wicket sucked the life out of England…and the series for them.

Shai Hope was unbeaten in the chase for us in the CPL final (Amazon Warriors represent :) ) and he remains unbeaten here against the Poms as we take the series.

I love this new version of him. Rock solid.

Cricket Web: All-Time Legend
The assertion that England has a "mediocre" sporting culture is subjective and can vary depending on the metrics and criteria used for evaluation. England has a rich history in sports and has made significant contributions to the development and popularization of various disciplines worldwide. However, there are several factors and perspectives that might lead to discussions or perceptions about the sporting culture in England:

Traditional Sports Dominance: England has strong traditions in sports like football (soccer), rugby, and cricket. While these sports have seen considerable success and have large followings, other sports might not receive the same level of attention or investment.

Lack of Broad-Based Success: While England has excelled in certain sports, there may be perceptions of inconsistency or lack of success in broader international competitions across various disciplines compared to countries with similar or smaller populations.

Funding and Investment: The level of funding, infrastructure, and support for sports development can influence a nation's overall sporting success. If there are perceived gaps in funding or investment in grassroots programs, talent identification, and training, it can impact the overall sporting culture.

Media Influence: The media's focus and coverage can shape public perceptions about sporting achievements and priorities. If certain sports or events receive more attention than others, it can influence the perception of the broader sporting culture.

Cultural Attitudes and Participation: The extent to which sports are integrated into the culture, educational institutions, and communities can impact participation rates, talent development, and overall success in various disciplines.

Global Competition: The increasing globalization of sports and the rise of competition from other nations can influence perceptions of a nation's sporting culture. As more countries invest in sports development and achieve success in international competitions, there might be discussions about areas of improvement or adaptation.

It's essential to approach discussions about sporting culture with nuance and consider the diverse range of sports, achievements, and perspectives within a nation. While England has a storied history in sports and continues to produce talented athletes across various disciplines, there might be areas for growth or adaptation in response to evolving global dynamics and challenges.
