Anyone know the official reason Linde isn't in proteas picture? I have heard the rumor's here but nothing ever official.

Unless there is an official statement put out which CSA dont normally do, we have to read between the lines ..
Someone in the CSA set up has Linde in a blacklist book ..i would liken it to Liam Dawson's situation with England..

Sad situation especially when you have all rounder problem , Mulder's batting record for SA is embarrassing.

Linde's exclusion may go back to when we last toured New Zealand when he requested not to be selected for the squad if he wasn't going to be playing. That's not necessarily as entitled as it sounds as it was during COVID, so they'd be operating under bubble conditions and it's understandable that he might not want have to go through all that. But given that he hasn't been picked since then it seems that request has left a black mark against his name.

Just wanted to mention Dian Forrester again ..

I cant remember a player having such a start to his professional career ..
If he keeps this up i can't imagine he will be at the Knights for very long..

In a losing cause to the Rhinos , Forrester took 2/45 in 14 overs (Mpumalanga made 502) , then batted at no.3 and made a duck in the first innings , Knights followed on and he made 125 off 191 out of a total of 238 ..

Then opened the bowling and got 1/5 in a short run chase..

His FC record reads 425 runs @ 106 , 6 wickets @ 32.00

List A record - 353 runs @ 50.42 SR 113
14 wickets @ 16.92 ..

Tony De Zorzi was a real positive in the series vs India should be given a long run ..
Bit disappointed that Verreynne was not given a chance he has been in great form

Elgar retiring after India series. Kinda unexpected thought he would go through the NZ series as well. Bitter sweet. Sorry to lose him. But also think it is probably the best for the team long term.
Pity he is not going to New Zealand. Who is left for that tour. Even I might have a shot, still have my pads somewhere

Fantastic servant to SA cricket , made the most of his ability, if CSA are smart they will keep him around in a management capacity around SA Cricket.

I don't think Elgar's retirement is a huge surprise. He's 36 and he doesn't play any of the other formats, so it's understandable that he's not in any long term plans. I had also thought he'd go to New Zealand. Even though his away record isn't that great, having someone who's actually got some test experience may have been helpful.
