Whatever it takes!!!
Interesting thing about Stoinis is that I read somewhere the Aussie Team mgmt thinks he is part of their best XI and they believe with Stoinis, David and Wade as 5-7, that is a strength. And given the 4 bowlers kinda pick themselves at this point and Maxi is locked in at 4, the only question is about the top 3.

Those 4 really shouldn't pick themselves, honestly. Cummins and starc haven't been up to par for ages.

Neither have actually played any form of high level T20 cricket since the last T20 World Cup tbh

Do agree that it would be good to find more quick options especially, but realistically who would be the alternatives? Of those who have played in that India series Dorff looked the best, but he's not really someone you can build around longterm considering his age and injury history

Ellis deserves more gametime on decks that aren't absolute roads

He was a little disappointing in that series even allowing for the pitches, but in general yeah absolutely Ellis deserves to be persisted with. Definitely has the right sort of skillset to get the job done

Johnson's another guy I wouldn't mind getting a good run if he's actually fit. Sutherland's stat's aren't great but i'de pick him on potential and recent form in other formats.

Johnson yeah, but I can't say I have massive hopes for Sutherland as a T20 bowler. When he's at his best in Shield cricket his main strength his hitting a consistent hard length with some occasoinal movement back into a rhb. Doesn't have express pace nor a large range of variation, seen him execute the yorker well at times but even then I wouldn't say he's shown that regularly. Unlike in FC cricket, a lot of his most notable Renegades performances have been with the bat

Still, will be interesting to see how he fares tonight

Spencer Johnson is being way overhyped. He was overlooked by state selectors for a long time but now it seems we're making up for it by throwing him into national squads already

Hard to get a look in when you are barely on the park. Sure there are a couple of times he could have been picked but wasn't (pretty sure I may have commented as such at the time) but by and large he was always either injured or just coming back from injury

IDK, sutherland has a good yorker, can move the new ball and is tall enough to get bounce out of the pitch. Those are enough to be a more than serviceable t20 bowler, which cummins has not been for ages.

I wouldn't really consider bounce a strength for T20 cricket as such. If anything, there seem to be a fair few shorter, skiddier bowlers who have seemed to have success on account of being more difficult to get under. Obviously it varies though from bowler to bowler

The yorker is definitely a good skill to have, something I hope to see him continue to work on, but for the most part the skills that make him a quality FC bowler aren't inherently transferrable
