Nah look, Nicholls is far ****ter than Latham.

Even if Rachin really wanted to open, Latham at 4 >> Nicholls.

It's hard to drop a batsman right after a double ton, especially if he wasn't only playing for injury or conditions, but he's clearly the weakest link in the top order.
Honestly didn't think about that, but it's a good point. Latham profiles more like a middle order bat anyway honestly.

The pitch is still good for batting so NZ can chase this down. Only factor would be scoreboard pressure if they lose a couple of wickets at the wrong time.

Alright I'll take that he hasn't done that well in FC cricket , don't think that should be enough to replace Latham , one of the most prolific NZ batsmen of all time and Vice skipper , maybe Nicholls would be a better replacement option
Nicholls is more likely to be the one dropped for Rachin but he is like a ****roach, just when he is in danger of being dropped he pulls out a big score.

I wouldn't be surprised if he pulls out another big score in this innings but I won't be complaining if it gets us a win.

Time for Nicholls to produce one of his trademark back to the wall big scores.

I don't have much faith in that happening though on this pitch against some quality bowling.

This looks damn (cc PEWS) bleak, but as an in Conway is the reincarnation of the Lord it's not all over yet.

Rangana Herath is the spin bowling coach of Bangladesh, he would have been proud of that lbw dismissal from Taijul, classic SLA dismissal.

He's done fine at FC level. Averages 39 or 40. But it will be a lot higher in a a few years. He's a better player than Nicholls who in turn is a lesser player than Latham. The team is stronger for having Ravindra in it, with Latham or Conway dropping to 4.

And if we're going a sacrificial lamb opening, I'd rather that lamb was Latham.

Ah, but Nicholls scoring runs always happens after he gets dropped a bunch of times.

Who better to drop him a bunch of times than this fielding side?!

It's all set up for Rachin to wait 5 years for his next Test so NZ could save a Test in Bangladesh.
