Santner is definitely a better bowler than GP and Rachin, not sure how that is a debate. Stats aren't purely reflective here, lest we go full Moneyball.

I expect the biggest advantage of GP is the arm he bowls and maybe a slightly higher perceived ability to score runs in the lower order. Can't really justify Santner over Ajaz, despite a personal belief that he would find success in test cricket and deserves further chances.

Yeah feel the same way here. I'm glad Santner is in the squad and I'm not going to be upset that he wasn't picked. But I'd have had him playing personally.

Ever since he learned to actually get the ball to rip while bowling in that 78-84km/h an hour zone hes added a tremendous tool to his attacking spin bowling.

I'm fine with him proving it in the plunket shield over a season or two more as well. Hardly like Ajaz is a spud. An unusually rich era for kiwi spin.
