Bangladesh bring up the 300 with a lucky french cut for four off Jamieson.

So close to bowling them out for under 300.

Galaxy brain Southee taking the new ball to bowl spin
Nothing wrong with it, it's been the thing in the subcontinent the past decade or so that the spinners are often as or more dangerous with the new ball, as it bounces more and can skid on quicker. A far cry from the times when India would use joke bowlers like Gavaskar to take the shine off the ball.

Whether you'd bowl Phillips with it is a different question. It is definitely easier to for the batsmen to time.

Yes but it’s against 9 and 10 and now 10 and 11. Just bowl them out normally.

Southee the only wicketless bowler to date... but of course he's required for his masterful captaincy.

2 runs away from all 11 batsmen reaching double figures, despite a fairly modest score. Weirdly we were also recently the first team to ever concede this in an ODI, despite thrashing England in that game.

It's because we're too nice to get batters out if they haven't faced 10–20 balls (otherwise they might be a bit disappointed)

Disappointing that we couldn't bowl Bangladesh out before stumps but a pretty good fightback from our bowlers after they were 180/2 just before tea.

We need to wrap their innings up quickly tomorrow and get a decent first innings lead, the pitch is turning already so we won't want to be chasing much in the second innings.
