Birds only I think 23 now and In t20s and one dayers has a high strike rate the problem is in the wp the only allowed 5 Caucasian players him and Daniel Smith have a lot of potential IMHO atleast to be tried in sa A team the issue is also that most of the players hogging the provincial teams are Caucasian batsmen also most of the non take up the 6 bowling slots especially when it comes to African players very skewed in a particular order division 1 could even use an extra team made up of these guys or better draft system I'm sure some could make North West team or kzn inlands team on loans.

Fortuin is very average IMHO and Peshi very overrated hasn't become a top already and won't. Nandre burger as a leftie is still young enough re fast bowler .

The keyword is realistically , Fortuin was very close to making this WC and his raw stats in a few appearances he has made for SA will ensure he gets more game time , he averages 29 with the ball in odi cricket which is currently better than Maharaj and Shamsi's bowling avg so naturally he'll be thought of as the successor should SA move away from these two , and Phehlukwayo I think could get in because we have a shortage of all rounders , also no point sugarcoating it , you do need to consider that SA will want to adhere to transformation guidelines..if i could pick who I wanted my side would look different, but again I'm guided by the realistic aspect of the discussion.

Sadly, Peter Carlstein passed away recently:
I knew him in the early to mid 2000s when he was a specialist batting coach for a few of the WA players - Darren Wates and Steve Magoffin. I used to go to the WACA indoor nets for training when I was a student at the John Forrest Senior High School Cricket Accademy. "Carly" was there, he'd always call a spade a spade and didn't mess around. But he had a big heart too and if you worked hard he would have time for you.
He played First-Class cricket in South Africa and a handful of Test matches for South Africa. He moved to Perth, Western Australia in the early 1980s
Unfortunately in 1964, whilst on tour with South Africa in New Zealand, his wife and 3 of his 4 children were killed in a car accident in South Africa which was terrible.

I don't know how I would feel about the Proteas if Rabada or Ngidi came out and said they are Malema supporters and think EWC is a good idea, or if Shamsi came and said what Hamas did was great.
Cricket and Politics in South Africa is blurred lines way to often . ICC has a lot of rules and by laws not allowing political interference into the sport however here in SA it happens blatantly . They are people and citizens , last i checked we have freedom of speech and high value in human rights . They have the right to their opinion as well as the right to honor their heritage of culture . If you read the article he was speaking at a award ceremony Rising Star of the Absa Jewish Achiever Awards , that is in direct correlation to the subject . Just because it doesn't align with politicians views he needs to be silent ? Why then not scrap all cultural or heritage events of people that doesn't align with the majority rule , fine lines . No place in sport .

Where did I say he has no right to free speech?
I just said, probably wise not to express those views. Of course he can, but given the charged nature of the subject then there will be idiots who will call for him to be dropped from the side.
The whole thing is a free speech subject , not being able to speak your opinion or speak about the matters that affect you and your family and any hindrance to that is a subject of free speech . Saying it is wise to not speak openly in fear of retribution or that there is any retribution to a view or opinion is a question of censorship and free speech .
Hope the board does the right thing and move on to more pressing cricket matters .
