I know ex - Indian cricketers are BCCI slaves . But instead of blaming toss and pitch(they come across as sore losers , they should question wisdom of playing D/N ODI in winters.

This should be a lesson for all ASIAN cricket boards . Never play Knockout matches of ICC tournaments in Asia in winter in D/N format.

This sounds like a cop out from Monga, sounds like a politician..
Two plays from India heavily influenced how they performed in the match :

1) Conservative play after the first powerplay
12 of the 16 boundaries that India hit in their innings came in the first 10 overs , in next 40 overs they hit 4 boundaries.

2)Changing the tournament bowling plans
The Final was the only match that India did not give the new ball to Siraj , Shami was given a new role for the WC final and wasn't as effective.

Also fails to acknowledge the preparation Australia did for final :

Australian cricketers are used to playing in big grounds back home , so they know how to cover big ground dimensions better than most teams ..

Every Indian batter was scouted , their favorite scoring shots cut off , great energy in the field suffocated Indian batters and India didn't do anything to counter punch this after powerplay.

Batting gameplan was simple, top 3 go hard like they always do , and Smith and Labuschagne hold the side together. It didn't change just because it was a final.

Australia may have had the best of batting conditions for a while in the 2nd innings, of the entire game, but they also had the worst in the first 10 overs, so that is sort of neutralised. If Shami had bowled more accurately to Head, Ind could have won. Plus the decision to bowl was quite risky still, cause other sides had done the same to Ind in hope of dew, but got pulverised, and blown away under lights by the bowling, but Aus trusted their game plan instead, and restricted Ind to not only below 300, but below 250 even through a truly inspired bowling and fielding performance.

What Gill, Iyer did while batting, when batting was not tough at all was pure choking. SKY just failed like he had nearly all his ODI career, and Shami was feeling the heat while bowling as well . So saying they didn’t choke is wrong. Don’t blame Jaddu and Kuldeep. Pitch had very little purchase for them in the second half. And Rohit and Kohli were sort of unlucky in their ways(Rohit cause of a surreal catch from Head, and Kohli cause the ball got big on him).

Yet Mr Monga conveniently ignores the fact that India, by that token, had the best of the conditions in the semi-final, including changing the pitch to suit the conditions they were after?

Please. It's OK, actually beneficial to say you weren't good enough, and you'll learn from it to do better in 4 years.
