***Official***THE FINAL- India vs Australia - November 19th - Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad (D/N)

Whatever it takes!!!
Also based on how they performed, this Indian side is imo on par with Australia of 07. They would need to win obvs
I mean even comparison is premature when we have not even won a single WC with this generation of players. They won 2. 2003 had miracles but 2007 was just a ****ing procession.

Nah like Aus 2003 side .This Indian team like AUS 2003 side doesn’t carry that invincible aura .
Whereas AUS 07 side had an aura that just made opposition side surrender .

This Indian side is not as good as Aus 2007 because of far inferior fielding and a weak tail and lower order but it's easily top 3-4 ever fielded in the WC.

I was particularly thinking about how one sided the games were.

From memory, SA made a good fist of the 370 odd run chase against Australia in the group stages but still ended up by losing close to 100 runs. KP and Bell got going in one of the super 8 matches but Australia also won that by overs to spare. Those were the closest anyone got to Australia in that tournament and I think it's a similar case with India here

03 had some very close shouts. Don't know how they would compare man to man though

Ten wins on the trot in Indian conditions is plenty aura for most opponents tbh. Don't think anyone's fronting up to take down this Indian side atm. Less than 100 would be on if the final was at Eden but Modi stadium will probably see 275-300 made in each innings.

Don’t go by winning margins .
We were put under pressure vs Aus, NZ , Eng and once again NZ .
Was there a single game in 2007 except maybe SA one , where AUS was put under even remote pressure.

That's the nature of WC play, bud. Nobody shows up to roll over and die. Even Aus of old would find it hard to walk over the top teams today, what with powerplays, freehits, ball changes, etc. There's simply more ways of mounting a recovery now than ever before.

You feel our side WC campaign is as good as 2007 one , that’s why . Doing man to man comparison 🤪
Nah, I think if that Australia side was 100, this Indian side would be somewhere in the 80s on quality.

Aura-wise it's not even a comparison, winning a few games in a month just shows a team in form, the aura of that Australian side was built on sustained domination of the world cricket over a decade.

Whilst India will rightly start as favourites, Australia are a very dangerous opponent.

They have 3 batsmen - Head, Maxwell and Marsh who can take any attack apart. They are well suppprted by Warner, Smith and Labuschagne.

Their lower order is a bit weak though but so too is India's.

The Aussie bowling is good but Cummings and Starc, as good as they are, can be expensive.

For India they have virtually everything covered - their only weakness is they do have a bit of a tail.

Their top 6 is very good and they're the best bowling attack in the competition with no real weak links.

I think India deserve to win and I think they will do but only a fool would write the Aussies off.
was looking at the figures of Cummins and Starc in the World Cup (both 36-37 averages) and in India vs India, probably won't leave Cumming out but ought to consider it

aussies had India 2/3 in their group game (that's 3 wickets for aussies who don't get the whole concept bowling figures are wickets/runs and totals are runs/wickets ie 400/5, problem is Cummins and Zampa did diddly

they are vulnerable with a lower order which can score cameos, bit better than England's supposed deep batting, but isn't all that great. if India don't make dents in their top order then should be ok

199 vs IND - were 74/1 but Jadeja took out Smith (46) and Labuschagne (27) and from 119/4 they added only 80 more runs, and despite said good start by their bowlers couldn't sustain it

177 vs SAF - put South Africans in as a few did and saw them pile on runs, 70/6 their start, Labuschagne 46 about the "highlight"

215/5 vs SRL - chasing, 52 from Marsh at the top and 30s-50s in the middle saw them home

367/9 vs PAK - 259 by the opening pair, all 10 wickets lost for 108 runs

399/8 vs HOL - couple of hundreds and fifties, early loss of Marsh at 28/1 not a problem

388 vs NZL - 175 opening stand, 1-8 all made double figures but barely half Warner's 81 at best outside 1-2

286 vs ENG - England had them 117/4 but allowed 6-11 (132) to score more than they should have and England fell short

293/7 vs AFG - 91/7 and never looked back, well Maxwell certainly won this one with 201no

307/2 vs BAN - Marsh 177no after they were 12/1

215/7 vs SAF (SF) - 60/0 to 61/2 and 133/4 to 137/5 losing two quick wickets twice aside they all but two got double figures and got home safely enough - well just about!

lost their opening two games, one against the unbeaten Indians "on their patch" with scores under 200, and next lowest is 286 outside of chases even if they may have made less than 286 against South Africa had the target been more than that

tough for aussies but I reckon they're the only team in the tournament could beat India, and would be funny if the only game the Indians lost was the final, might have been better to lose to Holland and left deshis go out of CT, but I guess could also win it with 11 wins out of 11

of course now kiwis and saffers are out guarantees no new name on the trophy

The pitch for the Final will no doubt be a turner with par score of 240 runs.

There is always good amount of dew in fhe evening at Ahmedabad, making it hard for spinners and easier to chase. So not a bad thing to LOSE the toss so that you can get the opposition to bat first so that they have to bowl with dew later.

Prediction- Australia to win toss & bat
Score 240-250 (around par)
Result- ??

I just don't see it, there's a gulf in class/form (plus Aus used up a lot of luck today). The fact Zampa's form has fallen off a cliff is massive too, means they can prepare a rank turner without much fear.
What luck did they have in this game? Can you share please?

this is trash lol

you can say that India 2023 side has been just as dominant as 2007 Aus side perfectly reasonably without making up reasons like this
