I've never wanted a team to get humbled so badly haha.

Massive fan of Ange and for the most part I don't mind Spurs, but their fans have been insufferable lately and were shocking after they defeated us with 9 men. To see the tables turn on them and now the response has literally made my week. Chelsea being so trash makes it even more comical.

It's unfortunate that they've picked up the injuries, that toll will more than likely see them drop out of the top 4 over the next month or so.
Spurs fans are insufferable at the best of times. My greatest day as a Pompey fan was winning the semi against them and Redknapp in 2010 and watching them all trapse out of Wembley 5 mins before the end.

As for the injuries, they're helped by the fact there's another International break coming up, so they've only actually got one game in the next 3 weeks.

But last night was crazy. Jackson has a hattrick and he's one of the worst strikers I've ever seen.

Varane is washed , understandable that ETH thinks Evans is a better option in 2023.

Poor night from ETH, took to long to withdraw Eriksen and replacing Højlund with Mount ffs.

Yeah I mean we're obviously not up there with the elite of Europe. I'd take one more scalp before we drop out though.
Fair point but I wouldn't consider Milan or Dortmund 'elite' either.

They're clubs with European pedigree but I think on form and what I've seen of both so far this season Newcastle are as good as them. Those results against Dortmund are as much down to experience or 'know-how' as they are injuries/availability.

I would much prefer one of them to drop down into Europa League than to potentially face Newcastle. St James Park in a knock-out tie would not be a fun place to go.

AC Milan were in last year's semis. And Dortmund regularly get to the last 16 or beyond. Compared to us they're seasoned and that makes a world of difference.

I get the point you're making and don't necessarily disagree, but I'd point to Man United, Sevilla and Benfica who are all 'seasoned' European sides that are currently rock bottom of their respective groups.

There's a lot to be said for having the experience but I do also think form/quality can quite easily overcome that.

Milan and Dortmund are a long way from the strong sides they've been in the last decade.

Eh, Dortmund maybe but Milan have been better in the last 2-3 years than they have been since they had in a little while before that

21-22 they were fantastic, last season they were 20pts off the title. You're right they spent a very long time in the wilderness before that so relatively speaking they are better than they were.

As MW said, they made the SF's last year so it's certainly still a very capable team I just think their form of late has been pretty poor. They don't look at all capable of winning Serie A this season.

I guess ultimately my point was that I would prefer to play Milan over two legs than Newcastle.

Yeah it’s a tough group but this Dortmund side are a team they should beat home and away.
