haha tbf, their prem results have been quite good. it's only when they've played in the champions league (or against anyone half decent) that they've been bad

Don't know if this is the right place for this but whatevs, my main takeaway is that Infantino seems dodgier than Bladder ever was. Which is surely not possible?

Some great games in the last week or so in club football. Oh well, lets have a break for some pointless International rubbish!!

Looking at the table, I am amazed at how for all the drama surrounding the Manure are 6th.
I think that a few of the games they won have been very late goals where the performance wasn't very good but they took the points.
Fulham and wolves game they shouldn't have really won and the Copenhagen game they needed a late penalty save.

Tbf it's only pointless for us because we've already qualified.

Anyway it means I can watch the whites on iFollow without a VPN

Obviously its all subjective but their best win in the premier league was probably beating Fulham away and then robbing Brentford at OT a few weeks ago which is not exactly inspiring . Then the other wins come against Luton and Wolves at home and away against SU and Burnley and all by a mere goal. They lost at home to Palace, Brighton and City and also lost away to Spurs and Arsenal.

What exactly do people think happens when Villa, Liverpool and Newcastle play them?

In the champions league, played 4 , lost 3 and won the other game by a goal against the mighty Copenhagen and the coca cola cup lost 3-0 at home against the Newcastle reserves.

Its been an abysmal season and crawling to victory against elite Luton doesn't suggest good times are on the horizon.

From what I can see, Man United's recruitment has been really haphazard and seems to have sucked out the confidence of their better players. Fernandes and Rashford seem nothing like as good as they have been.

Pretty evident they wasted their limited money. They overspent on Mount, who doesn't suit the system and then gambled on Hojlund, who's too inexperienced to lead the line as the main man for Man Utd. Onana made abit more sense given the season he just had at Inter but there was always a chance he wouldn't be suited to the prem and was being protected by a defensively robust Inter side.

Amrabat was a fine recruit if you put aside the embarrassment of having to only loan him because they couldn't afford to buy him.

All in all they spent over $200mil on 3 players, none of which have materially improved the starting XI.

The existing members of the squad have every right to have lost confidence in both the manager and recruitment team. It doesn't excuse their performances so far but does go some way to explaining the toxicity around the club.

Does £200m count as 'limited' now?
Pretty hard to turn over an entire squad for that amount. There's no doubt they've spent badly, which was actually my point.

And I can't believe I'm even defending United here...

What a random thing to selectively respond to from that entire post lol.

I do essentially agree with you. As for those signings, they needed a keeper, Onana seemed a good bet, it's not quite worked out so far. Hojlund looks a potential star, I'd give him more time. I have literally no idea what they were doing signing Mount, Chelsea must've been pissing themselves over that (and they're hardly Transfer Kings either).
