There have been some tactically bad calls at the toss this tournament, but I reckon India batting first here is actually right up there.

Not because it gave them a worse chance of winning - the opposite is true - but because it really gave SA a chance to expel their chasing demons. Having SA going into a final against India without having actually won a single game batting second would be a great mind****. Might still happen but they've decreased the chances of it now.

Nah, I would rather see India get good at batting first than play to any imagined weakness of the opposition.

See, this is the issue with the 4 #11s. We saw that the last game as well. Your slog is really reduced to 2-5 overs depending on whether you are 4 or 5 down in the last 10.

I think you’re being a bit too harsh on Kohli. He’s tried hitting out a lot, it’s not just connected. And a lot of that is cause it’s a slow pitch. And he’s not a hit in the air kinda batter. Never was. Plus on this track 310ish is enough. A new batter will find it tough to get going. Kohli getting out for 70ish could have meant a 290ish finish.

I dunno if there is any dew. A friend is there at the ground and he seems to think it will be 50-50. If there is no dew, this can be very tough conditions for batting later in the day.
