England are particularly abject against spin and SL have mystery spinners who can outfox poor players of spin. It's a bad match-up for them in the conditions.Don’t agree there. SL has the worst bowling attack in the comp, they’ve conceded huge totals. Are you telling me this England batting line up normally gets bowled out for 160 to them?
I'm not talking trash. My team sucks too right now and it's not because they didn't play Dil Dil Pakistan in the crowd. It's because they have **** spinners and get tied down in the middle overs when batting. It's a skill issue and I think that the same is the case for England.@trundler
You are doing lots of trash talk about a Team that has reached atleast semi-final in last 5 ICC tournaments and won 2 of them .
They were due a bad ICC tournament. No need to talk so much negatively when they are down .
Even if that’s the case, they’re still better than what they’re showing. None are playing to their potential.2023 Moeen Ali is batting at 6. This is a batting lineup trading on past glories.
Rashid has been fine in this tournament. A little under his best but there's little to suggest he's in steep decline. Rehan does need opportunities to play so they need to factor in some rotation, but I wouldn't automatically pension Rashid off.when teams age, it often happens suddenly, all together and very brutally. This team looks tired through and through.
Bairstow looks like a shadow of himself, Roopt is on the back end of his ODI career, Stokes isliterally on one leg, Ali has no business anywhere near this team, Rashidshould have been replaced by Rehan, Buttler looks done like many people who rely on their eyes.
It boggles the mind to bot play Harry Brook against this bowling attack.
Mo strikes me as a player with complete self awareness. If he knows he's done he'll quit.at least Mo might do the right thing and never put on an England shirt again after that performance. nicking off like that after facing 30 deliveries, unforgivable.
let's not forget he's played the majority of his first class career at 3
Did you watch that game?England are particularly abject against spin and SL have mystery spinners who can outfox poor players of spin. It's a bad match-up for them in the conditions.
Wow Nostradamus right here100 run defeat incoming
Don't mind him. He has a habit of talking out of his ass.Did you watch that game?
The Sri Lankan seamers took 7 wickets (2 run outs)!!
Angelo Mathews started the rot! That’s not a bad match up, it’s one that should be made in heaven.
Mo is symptomatic. Teams, especially “golden generation”.teams that come up together die together and it happens fast with age. You are thinking about their potential a year ago, not today.Even if that’s the case, they’re still better than what they’re showing. None are playing to their potential.
Edit: unless you’re the All Blacks or Amanda United under Sir Alex, and those teams are brutal about evolvingMo is symptomatic. Teams, especially “golden generation”.teams that come up together die together and it happens fast with age. You are thinking about their potential a year ago, not today.
India hat an epic test series against South Africa, we’re at the top of the test rankings And won the World Cup in 2011. They looked dominant. Then they lost eight tests in a row against England in Australia and it was clear that great team was done. Same thing here. Time to rebuild, and fully.
The spinners bowled beautifully and barely went for any runs. Sometimes crap bowlers have a good day (as Willey did today). SL are a good team and them going over most teams in the tournament isn't a surprise imo. I'm not saying England would lose to SL by such a margin every time but that wasn't an upset in these conditions.Did you watch that game?

●We conceded a huge total to South Africa who are making every bowling attack look Sunday league when they are batting first, and Pakistan on an absolute road.Don’t agree there. SL has the worst bowling attack in the comp, they’ve conceded huge totals. Are you telling me this England batting line up normally gets bowled out for 160 to them?
But did you expect to bowl England out for 160 on that pitch?●We conceded a huge total to South Africa who are making every bowling attack look Sunday league when they are batting first, and Pakistan on an absolute road.
●The main culprits for those big losses were Maheesha Pathirana and Dunith Wellalage, Talented youngsters but didn't have the confidence in these conditions in this tournament, they didn't play England.
●The attack that faced England was definitely not the worse attack in fact if you compare the bowling averages for the like for like bowlers ,there isn't that big a difference..
●Dhananjaya De Silva has a better bowling average than Moeen Ali
Lahiru Kumara has a better bowling average than Mark Wood
Our main spinner Theekshana has a better career average than your main spinner Rashid
Madushanka has been one of the bowlers of the tournament definitely better than Willey
Woakes is better than Rajitha I'll give you that .
Can't really compare Livingstone to Mathews , but Mathews is a better ODI bowler than Ben Stokes even if he was fit ..especially in subcontinent conditions..
●Nothing wrong with our attack at all , England don't do too well against Sri Lanka in general anyway .
I think we’d all agree with that. The bowling has not been a massive surprise, the batting most definitely has.To clarify, I think if you gave this same England side the Asia Cup + a series in Asia, they'd bat a lot better. Bairstow, Root and Stokes needed more ODI cricket under their belts. That's on the management for planning poorly. The pace attack + Mo would probably still suck in India though.
