England have done well so far. Can only assume they will struggle with the bat, but who knows!?
how well have they done and how well might they have, 40/3 inside 12 overs and may well face 200+ with their own 5-11 not exactly boasting lots of runs, two with HS of 43 this competition (Wood a not out 43) and most barely scratching 20

IF India get England 40/3 or even 100/3 or 100/4 then England may have to dig deep, could be a game/chase made for a Root trudge or Stokes special, Yadav and Rohit the only two looking remotely like scoring quickly and that is England's game "plan", those that have much batting to boast

Could be the 3rd close game in as many days
call me a cynic but maybe the organisers got their 1-4 they wanted and decided to put on some entertainment

Some on beeb HYS if not on here suggesting a better format is four groups of four, can't see them going to that given it cost them India and Pakistan in the "super 8" as lose the big gun clash and suffer a shock (2007?) and you are out. Four groups of five might work better, top two to QFs, or eg groups of three (six of?) and play each other twice, one goes through meaning India, England, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa and Australia could be in groups and face maybe a challenge from a West Indies, Zimbabwe, Holland, Bangladesh, Ireland, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka or some other side, involve more teams, not sure in spite of this supposedly being great for big guns playing a lot of games that we've had much entertainment, way too many games not close

certainly would park holding it in India again for at least 3-4 World Cups not have it here again in 2031...

TBF would take him over Latham any day.
Not only would it weaken the keeping to make Conway do it, but the bloke averages 26. List A record not much better either.

Capable of playing a decent innings as he's showing here but it would be insane to drop Latham for him.

Bumrah 0(12) he isn't that bad is he?
probably not, be he and Shami average 7s-8s in ODIs and with a lot of not outs so bit surprising they bat up the order any

some also make a big deal about batting the overs, whether it is worth scratching 20 runs to make 50 overs or being all out and scoring 25, well I know which I'd go with even if you'll never know either way what the other way would have resulted in
