Never seen that
Bairstow cheating, he should have walked as clearly plumbWhat an insanely interesting 1st ball of a match!

Really not sure Moeen and Livingstone really offer an upgrade over Root's bowling. I would've only gone with one of them - Livingstone for me.Right decision to leave Brook out. England need Livingstone and Ali for batting and bowling depth and someone has to miss out. Not sure about Woakes and Willey - think Atkinson is unlucky.
Oh dear!
Sri Lanka winning the moral World Cup here.Spirit of cricket and all that.
And it gets pulled up just inside the long on boundary.I thought he'd middled it/hit his own pad. Who reviews the first ball?
Livingstone was excellent against Afghanistan with the ball but can disappear to all parts on his day as we knowReally not sure Moeen and Livingstone really offer an upgrade over Root's bowling. I would've only gone with one of them - Livingstone for me.
Yeah Moeen used to be a frontline bowler but isn't really anymore. I think he, Livingstone and Root are all similar standard and they all bowl flat offies so I'm not sure having three of them to make up 10 overs is really an upgrade on having two of them to make up 10 overs. One as fifth bowler and one as sixth is fine IMO.Livingstone was excellent against Afghanistan with the ball but can disappear to all parts on his day as we know

That said I don't think Brook has worked out fifty over batting yet anyway so meh. Moeen's record in between World Cups was so bad that I just have a bit of a bee in my bonnet about how bad he'd become.
I did find it funny that you said "Willey should never bat 7 again" and Molehill replied with "I disagree, Root should never be sixth bowler again" - and then picked picked Livingstone and Moeen for a batsman and a bowler so that you both got what you wanted.
Yeah so does Root when he really feels like it (but they're garbo tbf). It's one of the reasons I'd have gone with Livingstone over Moeen, aside from the fact that he's a better bat.Livingstone bowls leggies too tbf.
The big issue at the moment is the lack of a real seaming all rounder, one whose main strength is batting. Ironic that Australia have 3 at the mo and England basically have none.Yeah Moeen used to be a frontline bowler but isn't really anymore. Yeah as much as I rip on Stoinis he'd actually be vaguely useful for England. The big issue at the moment is the lack of a real seaming all rounder, one whose main strength is batting. Ironic that Australia have 3 at the mo and England basically have none.
The first 4 overs have summed SL up though, Madushanka is a real threat but there's not much at the other end. Doesn't seem to matter who they pick as the other new ball bowler.Madushanka bowling well here. Unlucky to pick up a wicket
They all post on this website. Why are all the commentators saying England came in as tournament favourites? That was always India with home advantage
