***Official***Match #24- Australia vs Netherlands- October 25th-Delhi (D/N)

Inglis with an accidental stumping to finish a sorry innings for the Netherlands., sums up their day.

A great NRR booster for the Aussies but not much of a contest, I thought it would be one sided but not that one sided.

What a silly way to end a game of cricket lol. Kind of fitting given how much of a non event this turned into.

Fair to say that England, NZ and Pakistan won't be thrilled with that "effort" by the Netherlands.
There were never going to be a real chance. Most these teams get like 1 upset then get back to being crap again. Only one the minnows I see maybe upsetting Aus is Afghanistan if they play on a tough pitch

Netherlands have been consistently competitive this tournament until today, but this was a real stinker.

To be fair this is kind of just what Aus does to these sorts of teams at WCs and why we basically always make knockouts, a lot of teams have randomly dropped games like this here and there but Aus always seems to blow these teams out of the water

Yeah Netherlands have been good in patches this tournament I still didn’t give them much hope especially when Aus decided to bat first. This game came at the right time for Aus and boosts up the confidence for their batters and bowlers who were patchy as well. Hopefully they can keep it going

Good point. Since 1992 WC , we haven’t made knockouts in 2 WC (1999,2007) and in both we lost to ZIM (99) and BAN (07) . So key to making knockouts is play good cricket and don’t lose to very weak sides

Who will they even drop for Head now I really don’t see them dropping all rounder for him. Think it’ll be Marnus still even though he had a good innings today. Marsh at 4 might be ideal but he always looks shaky to start his innings

lol no. Marsh bowled today and picked two so you have the extra bowling overs covered with Maxwell/Marsh and don't need either Green or particularly Stoinis

I bet you they won’t drop Stoinis or Green. They usually pick that extra all round bowling option no matter what

It’s kind of how up and comers should be treated at any contest tbh. It’s a real thing in tennis - the established blokes try to make a point of #punishing the next big thing. Jim Courier of all people tells a great story of playing ivan Lendl at a US open when courier was just coming through, and as he said wtte of “he destroyed me. Like I’d offended him by being n on n the court with him.”

#punish them

Australia's fastest ever ODI hundred was James Faulkner off 57 balls....Maxwell new record and fastest WC hundred in history in 40 balls. Australia starting to click 😀
Nope!

You forgot about Maxwell's previous century that he cracked in the World Cup off 51 balls some time back in 2015 against Sri Lanka.

Bas pretty much single-handedly dragged the Netherlands into the World Cup and then bowled the most expensive spell of all-time when he got there. Cricket, amirite.

Wonder how good a player Maxwell would have been with a regular brain
I reckon based on his FC stats he could have had a successful test career. Last time he was in the team he was playing sensibly

We'll never know now though unforch
