Topley should be pretty fresh shouldn’t he? He’s gone for 63 in seven and tbh his figures flatter him. Been gifted two poles off turgid filth
It looks pretty horrible out there. Humid as well as baking. An astonishing decision to bowl first.

King Kane

International Regular
Klaasen and Miller murdered the Aussie bowling attack in one of their warm up ODIs in South Africa recently, some of the best hitting I have seen.

Raw pace is just travelling here. Wood today, Rauf yesterday. Getting slayed like Buffy was about. These are roads.

We played a game at Parra in the early 2000s when the temp reached 46 Celsius but it wasn’t humid.

It also wasn’t much fun.

Cricket NSW has since brought in playing conditions that if it gets over 42 or so they call the whole round off. Pretty soft imho. No wonder we run last in everything these days
Yeah, we played in Dubbo between Xmas and NY in 2005, and it was 42/43. Wasn't so bad though as it was a dry heat.

Basic contextual thinking. They will have vastly the better of the climate if they bat first. England seem to have abandoned contextual thinking at the toss. Reminds one of the Root/Silverwood era in tests. Rigid and can't adapt.
