How excatly has Raya overtaken Ramsdale in he pecking order?
Not many arsenal fans agreed or wanted it. Mot because we don't think raya is very good, in fact he may be better. But ramsdale just didn't deserve it, he's been a huge part of our improvement not just goalkeeping but team spirit too. He's such a popular guy with fans and clearly teammates too. The 5/6 young British guys we had in our team last year really changed things to bring the spirit up

Haha it is actually great. Makes beating all the big teams so much better. We almost bought someone in the summer for about 35 million which would have ruined it a bit. I guess it is going to happen sooner or later though.

Palace have never paid a huge amount got anyone have they @wpdavid?

Those peanuts also happen to be more than our record transfer.
I remember meeting Brentford fans in Barbados for an England test in 2015. Not sure what league you were in then but I remember saying I hope you continue moving up through the leagues.

Cabaye must be their most established signing but not sure if he cost much or on a free

Now you're asking. Which means I have absolutely no idea. Relative to prices at the time, Nigel Martyn may be our most expensive signing as he was a pretty established keeper when he joined us, and we all knew he was a massive upgrade. But it was in 1989, so the price would look peanuts now. Go back another 10 years, and we paid £650,000 for Mike Flanagan, which really wasn't money well spent. To put that fee into context, Trevor Francis had become the first £1 player only a few months previously. Flanagan may even have been the second most expensive between two English clubs.

EDIT
Martyn was the first keeper to attract a £1m fee in English football. Any idea what £1m then looks like in today's money?

Anyway, here's the official list.
Turns out Benteke of all people is the most expensive.

Oh man had totally forgotten about the existence of Sakho as well.

Some great buys in there as well though. Guehi, Eze and Olise all worth absolutely tons now.

Would have been a Championship side, Warburton got them to the playoffs then moved to Rangers that summer.

Well he was famously sacked/not actually sacked first. That season was so much fun though, one if my absolute favourites.

Was a coach at West Ham last time I checked. Generally it hasn't been particularly impressive but QPR have really gone downhill since they got rid of him.

Was he your manager back when we were League One promotion rivals?

Seems strange to even write that

Nah that was Uwe Rosler. Warburton would have been director of football at the time.

Still remember that game at Griffin Park around January time where you won and looked very much like a promotion team.
