No - Kallis was just one of a lot of above average batters in that period, and his bowling had very little incremental value

A team of 7 Kallis and 4 Imrans would beat a team of 7 Tendulkars and 4 McGraths every time.

All they would need would be to get McGrath on strike :p

The most likely outcome of that game is a draw, and even if it wasn’t I don’t think that it’s that obvious, and it wasn’t the question asked

I was only half joking. But a lineup of Kallis and we are talking more than a day and half to score 400. So you will end up drawing a lot of games that would have been won.
Not really, 5 days is a pretty long time, especially if they other team bats only down to 7

Scoring at a rate of 300 a day, conditions permitting, is a minimum standards for me for XIs I select.
Therein lies the problem though. Your standard is too rigid.

Even that aside, for this particular case, in the all rounder side you can change the batting order around a bit and still up the tempo a bit if you want, even if Kallis does the bulk of the scoring. You can't have McGrath bat anywhere other than 8-11.

So that eliminates Sobers, Tendulkar, Smith, Hobbs, Hutton, Sutcliffe, Gavaskar, Dravid, Waugh, Border, Sangakkara, Kallis, Headley, Hammond, Barrington, Chappell, Walcott, Younis and Compton. Hell, even de Villiers.

Short list of players you have left.
300 give or take.
