Yeah Dravid was definitely better against low quality bowling but this thread is just for high quality bowling
I am addressing the questions - Dravid had far more iconic and match winning performances against top bowling against AB De Villiers
We’ve already established his overall career is much better and that he played high quality bowling as much as De Villiers

Their records against some high quality bowlers. Dravid has better record against Warne, Broad, Anderson, Akhtar and Asif. AB has better record against Johnson, Harris and Murali. Nothing here says AB is a better against high quality bowling. If only it's the opposite.

You counting his entire career as high quality bowling?
no, but I’m not cherry picking countries. He had a higher average and played more difficult boring on average. That’s the only statistically sound conclusion that can be drawn

Root in Tier 2. He is much closer to guys in Tier 2 than Chanders, Sehwag etc.ABD in Tier-3. Didn’t fulfil his total potential imho.

Depends on how the rest of his career goes. Pretty sure he will end in tier 3 after he goes through the decline phase since he’s not the best at cashing in. He has underachieved a bit like ABD.

Yeah agreed. Feel like he’s tier 1 on skill but he just didn’t have the longevity.

I feel like De Villiers is overrated in tests based on what he actually achieved. Even people who generally rank results over aesthetics place him much higher than his output warrants imo. I think Amla was at least as good when his career overlapped with ABdV's. I don't see how De Villiers gets in that top or even second tier at all. He's about Inzi or Chanderpaul level imo.
