Which is the Strongest World XI Ever Assembled?

We should probably avoid further discussion on genetic inferiorty of various cricketing nations on here.

It's not okay just because it's England.

Plus we wouldn't want Sunny Gavaskar to join and give his 2c.

This is one heck of a World XI in the 1977/78 WSC.

And, to my mind, this is the strongest XI that the ROW put out against England in 1970.

Looking at the 1971/72 scorecards, the ROW sides that played against England in 1970 were stronger than the World XIs that played in Australia 18 months later. And they were actually successful, unlike the World XI that was wallopped by Australia in 2005. So my vote goes to the WSC side or 1970 ROW side that I've posted here.

Thanks for actually answering the OP.

That 77/78 team were all around their prime too. The 70 team was weaker bowling wise.
Lets not pretend Procter, Barlow and Pollock weren’t in their primes around 1970 - they’d all just come off a very successful series vs Australia. Gibbs though was definitely a bit past it and Intikhab was never that great.
