It'd be nice to see three actual teams and then we can compare them. Get on that OP

Jayasuriya
Dilshan
Sangakarra
De Silva

India probably has two of the best ODI players ever(Kohli and Kapil) but Pak teams seems to be more complete.

Pakistan. A more complete team as Asshole mentioned. Four worldclass bowlers and a proper swing and spin bowler as 5th and 6th options. Batting that runs until 9.

India has the ultimate top six but too long a tail.

I would always go for Sehwag as opener in a ODI and put Sharma at no.3.

You need guys like Gilly, Jayasuria, Afridi and Sehwag to blast off and put the opposition on the backfoot. I will never forget how his early blitz on Umar Gul turned out to be the difference in the 2011 semifinal.

Sehwag has a SR of 104. Highly underrated.

And make the best batsman in the team bat in an unoptimal position?

Subs is wrong as is usual but Rohit isn't even in in the top three batsmen of that side. You have to take modern ODI stats into the context they were achieved. It's a much higher and faster scoring era. There's no way he's better than Tendulkar.
One down is not that big of a deal. I always think about real match play than team sheet.
When I said the best bat I meant Kohli. Idk what made you all think I meant Rohit?

That's not the good argument you think it is given we're making team sheets here and they won't be playing real matches.
That's the difference between me and other posters then. The same teamsheet logic often ends up with posters here just restricting themselves to 5 bowling options in LOIs whereas real match play requires flexibility.

Sehwag averages less but unlike Tendulkar and Rohit he is much more capable of a quick cameo of 30/40 against the best bowlers in the world which is the tradeoff you get for his lesser average. Same logic goes for Jayasuria, Afridi and Gilly.

ODIs are frequently won in those first ten overs after which the pitch often slows. Sehwag has the fear factor.

Oh he said he'd move Rohit down to 3 and you said what you did in reply so I assumed you were talking about Rohit.

Fair enough if you meant Kohli.
If Rohit is moved to 3 then Kohli had to move to 4.

Except in real games Sehwag hardly won India matches in the first 10 overs. And his record is inflated by minnowbashing.

Sehwag did it several times in the 2011 WC.

Much rather have him flay a few strokes against Wasim before getting out rather than have Sharma who is more suspect against left armers.

Btw you are complaining about moving Kohli from his place while you put Babar as opener for Pakistan.
