Yes he was devastating was he wasn't a great new ball bowler at that point. He would regularly get bashed with the new ball and then clean up shop with the old ball. He only got better with the new ball later in his career once his back gave way and he had to adapt. Knowledgeable Pakistan fans will concede this.I'm curious to know what narcotics you are on? Peak Waqar ie b4 his back issues was the most devastating fast bowler of all time period.
I am following the logic of the OP. If Bumrah is in, then we take shorter careers at face value and hence Asif, Fazal and Shaheen are going to be valued higher compared to Kapil and Shami.They included Bumrah in their XI because that is THEIR choice and afaic it's not unreasonable given India's relative meager pace choices. You donot get to dictate who and who cannot be in anyone's XI especially since you didn't even start this thread....
We either accept that longevity is the real determinant of value, in which case Bumrah is out of India first XI, or we don't, in which case Pakistan's second XI pace attack will be better than India's first.
