i dont remember Hendricks ever being an option for 2019 but im not a good source for itReeza Hendricks was in contention for WC play in 2019 but lost out to Amla, a Hashim Amla whom like you said was a spent force..
Hashim Amla averaged 46 in his final year of 2019 despite being past his best ..
Reeza Hendricks averages 27 at a SR of 77 in his ODI career to date of 27 matches , and he is 34 so no spring chicken .. without using hindsight right now Reeza Hendricks isn't even on the level of spent force Amla , let alone prime Hashim Amla ..
Markram was also in 2019 squad so can't really match him up to Duminy but what I will say is that Duminy and Markram are very similar , both great T20 players , ..Duminy averaged 37 in his ODI career. Markram will be 29 but only averages 33 and that average was heavily boosted by that 175 vs the Netherlands this year ..He doesn't average 40 or over against any other odi opponents so again he still needs to prove himself at ODI level at this moment..
Marco Jansen has talent definitely..But he isn't proven with the bat at all , atleast Pretorius and Morris scored 100s at domestic level..Marco Jansen has never scored 100 in his professional career , in fact in List A he hasn't even scored a 50 ..That's a lot of pressure to put on someone at No.7
Batting lacks pedigree outside of SA ..Klaasen averages 27 away from home.. Bavuma averages 29 away from home ..
Only QDK (38) , Miller (35) , and Rassie (48) have any sort of proven pedigree in foreign conditions.. and we know they aren't going to get strong support from the lower order Coetzee can bat but like Jansen he still is unproven .. lot more questions than answers ..
So SA has the balance that gives coaches nightmares , only 5 proper bowling options ( Even Jansen hasn't set 50 over cricket a light yet) but then tail begins at no.8 ...Its tough but let's see what they can do ..
again you are being selective with your stats, Amla’s strike rate in that year was a dreadful 74. he was dire to watch too, not sure if you watched him play where as Reeza in 2023 is not the same as Reeza in 2019. same goes for Duminy and Markram, Duminy was past it since 2017 which you aren’t mentioning where as Markram’s best run of form in odi has been in the last year. pure numbers will tell you that Dhoni was great with an average of 60 in 2019 and also 2017 but he was **** because of the impact his playing style had on the rest of the team for one
Klaasen and Bavuma are the two best players of spin in this south africa team are they not? Klaasen in particular has ripped apart Chahal and Kuldeep more times than I can remember and had a great ipl so he will be fine. i already said no 7 is a problem
dont tell me you’re cherrypicking stats to make the team look bad because the South African fan dissed your Lankan team lol
