Weekes definitely wins on peer rating and did moderately better in England. But Walcott had THAT series against Australia.

Yeah Weekes was still prolific in both series but Walcott was even better
You know what, you are 100% correct. And both had one good series in England and one awful. Then they both had one awful series in Australia, without any chance to redeem themselves. Still Walcott's performance was otherworldly which is why I give him the edge.

That's why I actually always went with Weekes. Because he had a dead-set good tour of England unlike Clyde, whereas both actually did well in the two Walcott magnum opus series'. But Walcott's barrage of hundreds came against much better attacks than the one Weekes beat up in England.

Walcott scored tons in each of the last two Tests against India in his series before that as well.

So over a period of 12 Tests, he hit 10 hundreds and totalled 1,773 runs at 88.65.

A decent run of form, really.

11 hundreds and an average of 84 during his best 16-Test run; wish he was allowed to tour South Africa. The overseas opportunities were quite sparse.
