Unbelievable.
One of the greatest ODI knocks of all time, surely.
****ing ridiculous game. Full credit to Kohli though, despite being a **** he's a hell of a batsman.
WHAT A WIN
****ing amazing.
I'm hoping they embrace going full troll-mode and include Gavaskar's 36* (174) in the top 5.Cry more lol. I hope the top 10 is all just India odis.
I hope all games of The Streak make it to the top 15 too.I'm hoping they embrace going full troll-mode and include Gavaskar's 36* (174) in the top 5.
Will be remembered longer than this Kohli knock, even for the wrong reasons.I'm hoping they embrace going full troll-mode and include Gavaskar's 36* (174) in the top 5.
At least no one is calling him prince or king in these posts lolA few posts from that game on CW fwiw
I remember listening to a game on the radio in 2002 when Chanderpaul came back on after having earlier retired hurt and hit Tuffey for 4 4s in the final over to win the match.I hope that the Chanderpaul 4 and 6 to end the match against Sri Lanka at the queen’s park oval in Trinidad gets a shout.
The roar was so loud that a young SillyCowCorner1 heard it all the way in Guyana.
I hope jadeja winning it for CSK this year is #1.Remember that ODI that Jadeja won for India? That should be #1.
People are reading way too much into it IMO. I don't agree with that entry but it doesn't mean they've set some unbreakable legal precedent that the rest of the list has to follow. It's just going to be inconsistent because it's flippant cricinfo clickbait. The countdown so far does actually raise a serious (sorry) question though of where they go from here. I've made my peace with the fact that it's not a countdown of literally the 20 best games of ODI cricket ever (we're closing in on 5,000 of those, how do you even come up with such a ranking?) and rather is a subjective collection of the most memorable/iconic/significant matches/moments/performances, which is absolutely fine.
But if you take that even from an Indian point of view as has been this discussion, then if that Kohli innings above is one of the top 20 then as already noted the Natwest Trophy final should be too. And way above that of course is Sachin's 200* and even above that is the 1983 final win. I'd say that Kapil's 175 deserves a mention but it may well be included under the "83" banner. And do we also include the 2011 final, as the culmination of the Tendulkar era? And that's without including Desert Storm and probably a plethora of other matches I've forgotten that others here would champion.
So that's at least another four or five entries on the list, maybe more, without considering the most notable entries from other countries, and notwithstanding the absolute all time locks (1999 semi, 438/434, 2019 final, even the very first ever ODI for sheer significance?) which have to be included anyway. We're going to run out of road very quickly!
I prefer the way I see it. Much more dramatic.People are reading way too much into it IMO. It's also really late, I've had a lot of whisky and it took me way too long to write that post. So don't cheapen it, dammit!People are reading way too much into it IMO. I'll give you $4.80 for it.It's also really late, I've had a lot of whisky and it took me way too long to write that post. So don't cheapen it, dammit!
That's roughly $4.81 more than it's worth, so I grudgingly accept.I'll give you $4.80 for it.
Please DM me your bank details so I make the transfer and then edit your post to include a reference to Vusi Sibanda, Mathew Sinclair or superiority of Matthew Hoggard. That's roughly $4.81 more than it's worth, so I grudgingly accept.
