the dude has dirt on many politicians in Spain its the only reason why he’s still remaining in the post after all this backlash

this is another example to maybe change many of the rules of governing bodies across the globe to allow for them not to abuse their positions of power and stay entrenched in them so easily

Apparently trying to do the decent thing too.

FIFA on the right side of history? I mean, I've always assumed they had procedures & regulations in place to make sure that never happened.
It's too toxic for even FIFA. It's that bad.

11 members of Spain's women's coaching team have now resigned.
Everyone except the head coach who is also apparently a dick, hated by the players, and owes his job to Rubiales.

Even if one was minded to accept Rubiales's version of events, there's also the crotch-grabbing at full time, behaviour that would be immature for a 14yo boy after a school cup win, let alone a 46yo executive in charge of a major sporting association.

Apperently the Spanish FA are going for a complete circling of the wagons.

"With Rubiales facing a series of official complaints and a government process that could yet see him banned from sport in Spain for two to 15 years – to go with his current 90-day suspension from Fifa – the federation sent a request to Uefa to be expelled for breaking Uefa’s own statutes on state interference. Expulsion would see clubs including Real Madrid and Barcelona kicked out of European competitions such as the Champions League."

Victor Francos, the president of Spain’s Higher Council for Sport who has become a central figure in this situation, stated on Monday that all of the relevant bodies are “acting within the regulations as they stand”.

Cheers, Victor. Enlightening stuff.

Jeez. Eso es una puta locura, as the Castilians would have it.

I'm sure Barca, Real, Atletico, Sociedad and Sevilla are very happy to collectively sacrifice €200-300 million odd to save the career of a middle aged sex pest..
