Well that was a nice week off. Seems there are some sensitive people around here but nonetheless lesson has been learnt - apologies to anyone offended by the farmers league convo and/or Shearer chat. Bit of a shame no one engaged when there was rational arguments with evidence put forward, but I digress..
Moving right along, it's been interesting reading back over United fans coming to grips with the imbalance of their team. Going to be a long season for them unless dramatic action is taken in the market. All the hallmarks of what Liverpool were doing last season, vacating the midfield and leaving Casemiro to fire fight on his own - the guy is a great player but he will never be able to do that job by himself. Mount injury abit of a blessing in disguise in terms of player profile they'll be able to put into cover him and it should cool the heat around his signing from United fans. Antony is well on his way to being one of the biggest flop signings of all time, I don't get him at all.
As an LFC fan, I'm relatively happy with how we look but there is still work to be done on the market. Szoboslai is definitely class, been impressed by him and he could well be one of the very top midfielders in the league in a few months. Endo is a weird signing but seems a short term solution and Klopp is an admirer, so have to trust it for now. Mac Allister is going to be a steady hand and reliable while Diaz has also started on fire.
Still some big concerns I have regarding the defence and overall system. One centre-back injury away from disaster, Matip and Gomez are not at the level anymore unfortunately. It is also not immediately obvious what the plan would be if TAA is out for any extended period.
Think I would be really concerned if I was a Fulham fan, I watched them on the weekend and they look awful. Mitrovic gone now, Silva unhappy, they have relegation written all over them unless something drastically changes.
