Yeah, people may scoff at her taking a stand (like a lot of football fans won't even know who she is I don't suppose), but she's generally a well-liked and well-respected person, and she doubtless won't be the last to stand up and say "this is ****ing dire lads". Once a few more similar types start to speak up and say the same, and they doubtless will, it'll have a huge cumulative pressure imo. The backlash will be absolutely enormous.I think the Rachel Riley thing will make them take note. Not just her specifically, but when Jessica Ennis took a stand on Ched Evans it made Sheffield United take notice.
I don’t know why they don’t just offer him to a Saudi club. Problem solved
Jessica Ennis was a local Sheffield girl - Riley is just a celebrity Utd fan from Essex. Very different if you ask me...I think the Rachel Riley thing will make them take note. Not just her specifically, but when Jessica Ennis took a stand on Ched Evans it made Sheffield United take notice.

If United don’t care what fans outside of Manc think then they’re cutting off a huge part of their fanbase. As sledger said, she’s well liked other than by sad and lonely Corbynistas.Jessica Ennis was a local Sheffield girl - Riley is just a celebrity Utd fan from Essex. Very different if you ask me...
It'd be a massive sign that they're entirely driven by their global online fanbase and Twitter/Instagram sentiment instead of their local matchgoing fans. The latter from what I've heard is near universally digusted whilst it's unfortunately not hard to find legions of fans from Nigeria (for some reason Nigeria is massively overrepresented in this) clamoring for his return. Some pretty gross stuff out there unfortunatelyIf United don’t care what fans outside of Manc think then they’re cutting off a huge part of their fanbase. The backlash was too big for Raith ****ing Rovers and United seem to seriously think they can push past it. Nothing should surprise me about our levels of executive incompetence by now but Jesus ****ing Christ.Yeah, people may scoff at her taking a stand (like a lot of football fans won't even know who she is I don't suppose), but she's generally a well-liked and well-respected person, and she doubtless won't be the last to stand up and say "this is ****ing dire lads". I thought everybody knew her as one of the most high-profile female United fans in the country. She talks about them all the time.Who knew Riley was even a Man Utd fan until this?
Don't get me wrong, I'd be getting rid of the little scrote as fast as I could, but I wouldn't be letting the thoughts of some TV Celeb from Essex influence my decision.
Ennis was a local Sheffield hero and had serious influence on the City - Riley is just another trophy hunting bandwagon jumper!
I think it's easier for a big club to push past it - is someone really going to give up their much sought after Season Ticket over this? The backlash was too big for Raith ****ing Rovers and United seem to seriously think they can push past it. I don't follow her on X or Insta. If I did and she started prattling on about Utd, I'd probably soon unfollow. If there's one thing that gets my goat, it's trophy hunting (celebrity) fans from The South. I'll throw in Toby Tarrant (even though he's a big cricket fan) and Liverpool too for that.I thought everybody knew her as one of the most high-profile female United fans in the country. I think you're underestimating how much of a serious liability being known as Domestic Abuse FC would be tbh.I think it's easier for a big club to push past it - is someone really going to give up their much sought after Season Ticket over this?

Are you suggesting it will prevent OT being a sell out every week or reduce shirt sales in Thailand?I think you're underestimating how much of a serious liability being known as Domestic Abuse FC would be tbh.
TRFC is an absurdly large part of my life and I'd walk if we retained a player like that. I mean I take my daughters ffs. I'm not sure the big club thing matters that much.I think it's easier for a big club to push past it - is someone really going to give up their much sought after Season Ticket over this?

Exactly, Tranmere is a small club and a few fans can have a massive impact on a club. Once they rectified the situation, you'd be able to go back.TRFC is an absurdly large part of my life and I'd walk if we retained a player like that. I mean I take my daughters ffs. Even then, I bet there are countless sponsors waiting to grab a chance to be part of a global brand. One goes, let the furore die off for 3 months or so, then take advantage.Man United don't have to give a **** about season tickets though?
They make most of their money from merch and TV sales outside the UK where the news cycle doesn't include Rachel Riley's objections.
I'd like to see them take a stand but the only thing that will threaten them financially over this if sponsors start to bring it up.
