**** I remember watching that game live. Was insanely tense and volatile from the second Emerson goosed himself by calling Murali. Idiotic on his part

Do we fancy guessing which games will be in the top 10? Obviously the second SA/Aus game in 1999 and the 2019 WC final. Maybe the 1983 WC final.

Presumably SA's record chase in JoBurg. Good chances for India against England at Lord's, Ireland beating England in 2011, Bangladesh v Pakistan in 1999, WCF 1992. They'll probably include Tendulkar's 100th 100, because, well, you know...

Yeah, because were there actually years of resentment and atipathy driving this, or did it simply boil over because of a **** umpire?

Hoping that's in there as it's one I was actually at - incredible atmosphere in the crowd during that run chase which threatened to boil over at times.

Maybe one of the upsets in 2007? Bichel's one man show versus England in 2003? The England v Australia tie at Lord's in 2005 with Giles running 2 leg byes off the final ball?

Few of Sachin's matches could be there. 143 and 134 knocks, the 5 wicket haul.. the match where Klusenar and Kallis turned a certain victory to defeat against India..

Kohli's knock against Srilanka, chases by India in Natwest series and that Kanitkar last ball 4..

The thing I remember about that game is Ganguly removing his top to celebrate the win in response to Flintoff doing the same a few months earlier because, apparently, he wasn't happy about Fred doing that. I was completely unaware of the bad feeling that had caused, and I'd guess it was news to Flintoff too.

The 434 game will have to be there

I'm curious to see if they stick to mostly games that actually matter (ie World Cup, World series etc.) or if it's full of JAMODIs

I was at the tied game. It never felt to me like a classic because it was so bowler dominated. What got me was an Aussie got to the game a little late and asked the score. I told the fella that Gilchrist was already out and he was unhappy as that was whom he wanted to watch most. So it was a bit after the event in many respects.

Yeah, I was at that one too. Two top order collapses with mid innings fightbacks. I still think that ODI Series had a big impact on the Ashes that you never see anymore. Rivalries kicked off early and England made it clear they weren't going to roll over.

Just like 1997

But I preferred them before the tests too.

Arjuna is a real hero. The way he defended Murali and waged wars for him, I don't think any captain in cricket history has gone to that extent to defend a player in his team.
They didn't have to I guess. Emerson was a clown. By the time of that game Murali had undergone testing and his action was considered fine. Things had moved on from a few years earlier when Hair had called him.

Yeah absolutely. Even the one off t20 when England took down the Aussie bowling. Aussies turned up treating it as a bit of a joke, remember the Gillespie headband.
