Sweden all over Japan here (from the last 10 mins I've seen) - Japan look tentative and unwilling when on the ball as well.

Yeah Sweden pressing really well here, not giving the Japanese any time on the ball. Japan haven't really settled yet either, their passing has been a bit off, they look much less fluid than they have been previously - partly as a result of Swedish pressure, but they've just been a bit inaccurate too

Unlucky Pen sure, but don't have your hand out like that in the box, the ball was last kicked at the corner flag, so no real excuse for no time to react etc.

It flicked off a defender's head onto her, literally 1 yard away. Not sure hat she's supposed to do.

But it does make the scoreline more in tune with what's been going on. Japan have been largely outmuscled by Sweden.

Can Australia or Colombia prevent an all European semi final line up?

That's just not how it works, you're surrounded by players trying to keep your balance and it's a completely instinctual response. This rule doesn't punish anything worth punishing.

Her arm is going to be there whether the ball hits it or not, and it wouldn't have done till it flicked off someone else. The irony being that if it hadn't hit her I think it would've hit a Swedish arm right behind her. So how has any advantage been prevented? It really is a stupid rule.

fair on all counts, I'm only watching out the side of my eye while on meetings, looked to me she was on her way into the Y pose of the YMCA dance, didn't realise there'd been a flick on as well.

Japan seem to be putting a few little things together now, some tired legs from constant pressing in the Swedes?

Seen foul throws all the way through this tournament, not sure why they don't get called.
