What does a team need to win in India?

You could do a Rahane and score twin tons on the only flat deck of the series though
Not going to win the series though is it. Root did effectively that in 20/21 and we lost the other 3 games.

Albeit we didn't win the game but in 16/17 we had multiple centurions in the first test, sure Ali got 2 in the series and we lost 4-0.

That 16/17 series was definitely more down to us having not a single decent spinner, despite playing 6 throughout the series from memory.

this is it. India are so sad to be afraid of uncle.
No. They are not afraid of Uncles.

BCCI's only problem is that they believe in false reports generated by indian intelligence about possibility of some passionate young men turning India into No-man's land.

that series and maybe the seam friendly surfaces in bangladesh series are exceptions, but india mostly dish out turners.

Im not sure how KP and Cook would've done on these types of pitches
We bullied NZ across flat decks, seam friendly decks and turners lol. We've had far more range than net practice Australia or green pastures of England ffs.

The requirement for winning in India is batting well against spin. Same as ever. One plus is that their batsmen used to be godly against spin themselves, now they are average, so you only need decent spinners yourself.

Shouldn't winning in India be easy then?
It may seem a bit trivial at first, but it's actually a hell of a lot more complicated than that.
There are many requirements in a foreign land for touring teams to get on the field and be in their best possible shape to perform.
Diet and food is no exception, in fact it's probably one of the most important things to being well prepared before play starts.
Just because you love a decent curry doesn't mean popping into some random restaurant is going to end up satisfying. When you know a good place
to eat that's great, but often when you try a different place it ends up disappointing when you compare it to the food you're familiar with.
I can remember stories from 30 years ago of players struggling with the food and having to rely on a suitcase full of cans of baked beans
and spaghetti to get through the tour. Back then tours were longer, but even two test series these days means a total of about 20 days away.
It's one thing competing against the home team in the cricket itself, but if you struggle with food you're on the back foot before a ball is bowled.
I'm sure you can confirm that no single rogan josh is the same as any other.

3 batsmen of Alastair Cook's temperament and two quality spinners.

Bazball will only work if Ashwin/Jadeja go defensive after being hit for 60 runs in first 10 overs, otherwise those reckless shots won't make the cut.

If they go for 60 runs off 10 overs then it has already worked lol

Have good bowlers and execute plans well

Thinking back to Aussie defensive field strategy back in 2004 test series
