How many wickets have this lot got between them? 700? And five Tests into the series and they still bowl on leg stump every second ball.

They might as well just start with short stuff to Duckett. He’s far from perfect against everything else but he scores so rapidly when they don’t get it right.

This series in particular is showing why bowler-captains in the long term is a bad idea. He’s still showing good off-field leadership but it’s clear that he’s struggling on the field in all facets of the game.

He would rather charge and hoick to the on side than leave a ball outside off. Amazing
That's not what that was. As Ponting said he was just anticipating the line and using his feet to negate it rather than just leaving it for a session. Also wasn't a hoick.

"Murphy should be given the new ball over Pat Cummins" has finally crossed the line for a post so stupid it could only be trolling, so we'll see you in a year.
Actually I was just thinking that. Give Murphy the first over is the last thing they would expect. Might nick a skiddy lbw. Then take him off and you've got a huge head start.

I agree with Ponting, they should be over the wicket to Duckett. He plays at everything anyway.
