Pucovski played the recent MCC vs MCC (Melbourne) game at Lord's straight after the 2nd Test. He's currently playing for Weybridge CC in England

Following is link for Weybridge first XI

Batted No. 4 on 15th, got out first ball.

The thing with Pucovski is he is so vulnerable to concussion that he can't even risk falling heavily in the field. I think if CA was serious in investing in him they could even try develop a new type of helmet for him that better protects from concussion.

He's listed as getting a stumping – didn't know he kept.

Both our opening batsmen debuted then, and they had way better FC records than the guys we're considering now. Sure someone could come out of nowhere like Marnus, but I'm not keen to rely on that. I think we need better shield pitches (traditional fast and bouncy, not the green or slow and flat alternation we have now), and if what I hear on a certain other forum, less focus on white ball at junior rep level.

Oh it's entirely possible that he fades way to nothingness. I didn't read this article, I think it came after had noticed him. I just thought that he looked like something different, standing out from the usual parade of trundlers.

Your point about Worrall is allied to a point that I make about overseas players. Here we have Surrey preferring (playing as a domestic player) an old, experienced player. Meanwhile in Hampshire we've old fossil Barker and overseas imports Abbott and Abbas. Doesn't incentivise anyone to develop a young fast bowler except by poaching one from a weaker county.

That said, the one bowler I really like in the the current county setup (not that he gets any game time either) is Ajeet Dale. Will he amount to anything special? Probably not. But that wild, Wayne Holdsworth style sling is too much for me to ignore.
Hampshire could develop young Saffer bowler John Turner.

I played in that competition and one of my mates is still Chairman of one of the clubs

It’s maybe district 2nd grade standard

The pitches are generally pretty good at this time of the season and notice how his scores are improving as they dry out

Hadn’t given it much thought but this may well be the last Ashes test for many English players

Can’t imagine that Anderson, Broad & Mo will be in Australia

Wood might be better served chasing coin

Bairstow meh

Stokes is crocked so probably facing time out of the game

Big holes to fill
Australia has just as many that.wont be around for the next one or will be ancient by then so both sides have huge rebuilds to do in the coming future.

Yup. Predicting sides for the first test in 2027 isn't an easy task, especially the Australian XI.

Could quite easily see the England top 6 essentially being Crawley, Duckett, Pope, Root, Brook, Stokes at the next Ashes. England's main rebuild will be in the bowling, but they have at least blooded Robinson, Potts and Tongue. Australia only seem to use bowlers aged over 30.

You didn't win with a red ball in NZ; it was with a pink ball. England hasn't won a red ball test in NZ since 2008.

Fair enough I honestly can't remember a lot of February. Was off work due to mental health.

England doing well in cricket was a slight shred of comfort for me during that time.

I like that I can now laugh at myself again.

As that despite winning it was a hollow victory. As we were playing with a piece of trash that is the pink Kookaburra.

Thanks for setting me straight as it was my error and not yours haha.

Glad to hear that mate. And feel free to lean on us and this little community if you need some help next time. We can be biased jerks about cricket but this is a pretty great group of guys overall.
Thanks for kind words too. I really enjoy it on here, shame I've not spent more time on here over the years.

I joined in 2013 and must have been posting in 2015 due to me avatar. Which tells you gravitated here for the Ashes in the past. But I can see myself on here most days now.
