Medium pace seamer, plays for Bengal in the Ranji Trophy and has played for India A as well. Overall FC record is 149 wickets at 21.55/47.7 in 39 matches excluding this Test, and he's been called up in the recent past as backup for the pace attack. As reasonable as you can get really.

yeah nice, fair enough. Thanks mate (thanks HB as well). A better option (purely from a bowling standpoint) than Thakur?

As a bowler, Thakur won't find a place in this Indian team. His batting is helping him to get that position of third pacer who can bat a bit.

So, Mukesh and Thakur are not entirely direct competitors unless India is fine to go wirth 3 bunnies.

Yeah, I think if we had a 3rd test here and Shardul was fit, Unadkat would most likely have been the one dropped. Shardul really fights for the #8 spot in this side. Mukesh is in the list of our endless bowlers who are bunnies with the bat and competing for one of the 9-11 slots.

Somehow all of the spinners are being good batsmen too while the pacers still learn how to hold one.

They have batted really well. Would have liked to see them try to score runs than just survive coz I think they are a good enough team to beat any team at home. But I believe they were pretty low after last game and it takes time to build back. Hopefully they find good batsmen for the slots and build out a decent side.

plus i think they always are bit afraid while playing against India. They have performed well against good teams at home but somehow agaisnt us they are on backfoot.

West Indies are way behind still they could collapse in 20 overs and still be behind by 180 runs there is plenty of time for India to win game

2 more wickets should be done within the next 40 minutes you would think, then India play attacking cricket and score around 250 in 60 overs then declare
