So in place of a spinner who Cummins clearly doesn't trust with the ball, they're picking two pace-bowling all-rounders who Cummins clearly doesn't trust with the ball?
The medical team is the reason Green doesn’t bowl, not Cummins

I live about 30 mins drive from OT. Don’t want to worry anyone but it’s teeming down and doesn’t look like stopping any time soon…

Attack looks better with Haze in for Boland imo. Assuming he stays fit. The front line quicks’ workloads should be pretty manageable with two allrounders in the side.

Would have got the meme team if Neser had played instead of Haze.

The Aussies do make me laugh. When we play down under the hostility is unrelenting. Mo has had to put up with shocking racism. But once they meet a strong England side who give it back they crumble. Smith looked close to tears because JB said ' se ya Smudge'. Mind you Aussie captains past and present do seem a bit prone to having a bit weep when things get tough. If you can't take it don't give it and that run out was the stupidest thing you did this series. It has fired up the English side who are now desperate to win. Who will win? I don't know both sides look very well matched to me. It will probably come down to the toss and the weather. Even if England lose doubt the big 3s batting averages will be better than before they landed on our shores.

guys like smith and uzzy are absolute ***** s and have always been. The rest are way tougher especially the bowlers. Was embarrassed when smith was our captain

strong batting side may be light on bowling if Green has a problem. Disgruntled that the blue rinses in London have snubbed the North for test venues in the 2027 Ashes; disgrace. More than half of the test side is from the 3 most northerly counties. If you want to beat mentally tough opposition, you need tough players.

This test is going to be dictated by the weather. Days 4 and 5 look poor so most of the cricket will have to be played on the first 3 days.

Stokes has already alluded to this and this could play into the Aussies hands.

If the weather was set fair, I'd fancy us but we're going to have to take all the risks and make all the running.

We're going to have to be near perfect, particularly in the field - no dropped chances this time around. We have to be at it from the first ball.

Hopefully we'll bowl first, and make the bulk of our runs in our first innings.

Then bowl the Aussies out between the showers on day 5.

After the finger biting finishes of the first 3 tests, it would be a massive shame if the weather ruins this game but that's how I see this test panning out.

Really don't like the idea of going in with no specialist spinner, especially on a pitch that is far from green.

Oh, and only three specialist bowlers full stop. That's bad.

Bad feeling about this one. Weather affected test and England have to make all the moves here......all the Aussies need to do is hang in and not **** the bed.

Makes the toss crucial (we're 3 from 3 so far is it too much to hope for 4 from 4) I also think we're highly likely to see some Stokes craziness in order to push the game forward and that makes me very nervous.

If either Green or Marsh fire with the ball(and they will get more opportunities than normal you'd think) then they'll be fine.
What they really need is their captain and trump card to come to the party when all the chips are on the table.

The Aussie side suggests to me they are playing not to lose, not necessarily to win. Carey at 8 is a strong batting line up but Head averaging 44, Smith 31 and Labouche 22 means the big 3 aren't firing. Guess Broad will retire when Warner does.

I love a bet on the cricket but I can tell you now the weather forecasting in this country is appalling. A ******** chimp with a coin would be more accurate, but Manchester is in the Pennines rain cloud so not good. But Bazball which all sides seem to be playing now means tests rarely go to the 5th day if not affected by the weather and lost time can be caught up. All this is why I can't pick this one at all, laying the draw is usually a very sound bet. Final point conditions should suit the bowlers hence going in with only 3 specialists might not be the best plan.

If Cummins doesn't trust murphy yet then I like this side.
