Is Ashwin an ATG spinner / player?

What a load of nonsense. Get ****ed.
Showing your true colors. Loving it. And you can keep burning because truth is bitter.

Oh I forgot, you are far removed from truth as you can possible be in terms of both life and cricket. It's a common phenomenon observed amongst ..

Whatever it takes!!!
What do you expect from a P..........

He'd be the last people to admit that Ashwin is a borderline ATG bowler
That was uncalled for, man. Like except the two dumbos arguing a clear case of prejudiced false BS here, almost all Pak fans in CW have been awesome. In fact, folks like Xuhaib usually rate some of the Indian players even more than we do. And shortpitched just now put Gavaskar above heaps of other batsmen in his ratings.

Don't diss an entire community for a couple of biased posters. Pak CW fans are usually the best.

he accused subs of being biased towards Indian cricketers and of being a biased Indian fan before, that should tell you where on the line or spectrum he is

TBF, that was the phase subs was desperately trying to jinx our side. And when a couple of our side dumbos joined in and claimed we were better than the great Windies team or the noughties Aussies, it was mission accomplished. :(

The problem I have with saying X player didn't succeed in hostile conditions when called upon is that it's never really applied to everyone, even ATGs when they're being debated. No one really seems to want to go back and look and check whether the conditions that were presented for past players were really as unfavourable as it often is made out to be to elevate their status in such debates. Not for spinners, neither for fast bowlers, when both are affected by the pitches presented.

yeah coz that happened so regularly. 8-)
It didn't have to be regular but for each of them it happened at least once or twice in their career, whereas not for Ashwin. So yeah it's a sticking point if he didn't do what spinners are expected to do.

Spinner 5 wicket hauls in unfavourable conditions against quality lineups are largely a function of bowling a lot of overs.

Look at the quality of the other bowlers in their respective sides, and figure out who had more opportunity to bowl in SENA.

How many 5 wicket hauls do you think Kumble would have got if playing in Ashwin's place? 1? Utter non-issue when looking at 100ish test careers.
Baloney. There are matches in SA and England in 2018 where Kohli gave Ashwin long spells on the 4th day on worn wickets and he flopped. Really bad excuses here.

I am just happy I am not the Pak fan being attacked this time :)

Side note, Silver Line accused me of being an Indian steeped in my Indian bias recently.

No way man. I have always held the Ganguly/Dravid/Dhoni team in high regard. No bias there I genuinely like that team and defend them.

When???? England were batting first in 3 Tests, and the 1 Test they batted 4th they lost handily thanks to pace bowling. In South Africa the pacers dominated the series, and India couldn't chase in 2 Tests and won the 3rd on the worst pitch in the last 10 years where there were no spinners playing at all (both sides picked 5 pacers lol).

At least read up the match commentary and scorecards instead of making things up.

I watched those two games I am referring to in 2018. Centurion 2nd test, SA were teetering in the 2nd inning, Ashwin opened the bowling and yet couldn't break through despite a tricky pitch. In Southampton 4th test it was similar but worse, India had a lead, Ashwin opened yet again no impact on a helpful wicket. Both were crunch games and India lost the series.

You do realise he was carrying an injury in Southampton and missed next test due to said injury? Or is that excuse only applicable for non Indian bowlers like McGrath?

Southampton was the only time you could blame him for and he was injured then

edit beaten to the obvious point lol

No I blame him for Centurion as well. Those are the situations that spinners wish they can get to shine. Why would Kohli open the bowling with him? The wicket was responsive.
