In the second match of the series, it was leveled thanks to an excellent 128* (78) from Ibrahim Zahid chasing a meagre total of 186 against a poorer bowling attack. Brought into the XI at late notice, Mortimer again impressed, the only light in the AX–W batting innings with 66 (53). It's all set up for the series final. To commence a two-match Dev series hosted by AXI against AX–W, pinch-hitter James Mortimer pulled one out of the hat, scoring a remarkable 128 (76) punctuated by eight sixes. A characteristically adept performance from the home team's top order brought them to 252, but it proved well insufficient thanks to Mortimer's innings, and able assistance from Mark Hurst. The series will culminate with the next CWC9 fixture.
Good game going right to the wire with PP beating Charminster by 1 wicket with 5 balls to spare. Well done on your win. Happy with how we scrapped to defend what seemed a below par 216 all outNail biter! @JOJOXI
