I think we are supporters and we will look for marginal gains if we can, or what else is the point in following passionately? What do you suggest, that we put up with Blackwood, Reifer, Warrican et all because getting rid of them would only result in marginal gains? We have try to maximise what we have.

I totally agree fundamental change is needed. Lots of good work has gone on in the background over the last 5/6 years to put in place academy systems and improved coaching. The reality is that the results of that won't be seen for a few years because the current generation of players have been subject to rubbish pitches and umpiring, no academy system and absoltutely no pathway for under 23s resulting in the likes of Jordan, Archer and Bethel moving to England for more £££'s and opportunity.

In the short term I think we need to make drastic changes and hope for the best tbh. You are right about Kirk Mckenzie. But I would argue that our current group of batsmen are so bad that we have nothing to lose by picking players on the eye test rather than on stats and experience. At this point I would just say f it and pick Pooran, Hety and King for tests and see how it goes, because it can;t be worse than this.
I get it man. my point is complaining about who is picked and who isn't, is doing a disservice to the real issues in the region. honestly who is picked isn't close to the biggest issue.

Blackwood case in point, do you really think King would do any better? I get that you can only carry a guy so long who you don't think is up to scratch but I don't see a guy in the region who is gonna do better than Blackwood at test level.

Very very bad ball by Alice

Meat and drink for the man who won an IPL final scoring 10 off the last 2 balls!! Pulled over deep mid-wicket for a maximum

I think King is a better batsman than Blackwood tbh, but I doubt there is a huge amount in it. We have to try, I'm not watching Blackwood get caught at mid off or mid on every innings for the next 6 years whilst waiting for new talent to emerge lol.
