Never mind whether he replaces Hazlewood, play him at #7!

Though Mitch Swepson making a run a ball 69 does make me wonder about the bowling on show...

Will it be an all-you-can-eat buffet for the England batsmen though?
It will be whoever the Aussies play.

One of the key take aways from the 1st 3 tests is that despite their attack, they've not been able to stop us scoring at a very quick rate.

Boland has been hit out of the team. Hazlewood was going at 4.5 per over. Even Cummins has regularly been taken for over 4 an over.

Cummins was so concerned about us taking Murphy apart that he wouldn't bowl him in the 2nd innings as Leeds.

So the Aussies can play Neser if they want but he'll get the same treatment as his team mates.

which of course won’t mean a damn thing when Aus win at OT to win the ashes away - for all the Bazball theatrics, they’ll just be known as the first English side since 2001 to lose the Ashes at home

Yeah but they haven’t been taken for those rates over many overs through much of the series, which is why it’s 2-1 and Aus dgaf if England are making 280 over 50 overs or 95. If they get bowled out cheap it’s still a win.

I think Neser will play and bat eight with Starc at nine and Cummins ten. I hope they also play Green and Marsh, rissole Warner and have Green open. Five seam bowling options, a front line spinner and #batdeep. Ultimate meme team. Could only be meme'd more if they plucked Maxwell from County cricket to play as the spinner.
