We used to get multiple bans from regulars every Ashes and World Cup. A month ban isn't that unreasonable.

feels a bit rough to cop a month on the sidelines for goatse given i could walk into any given politics thread and go on a big racist rant and get like a warning or whatever at most, probably not even that if i desisted after one post

No, I just think Shady will define the latter as the former a whole lot. If someone actually did go and openly post a disgusting racist rant they'd be banned as well.
