Pujara averages 44 in test cricket and won India two series in AUS and rohit is one of the best test openers in the world right now. The 3-5 have been out of form for a while now and should've been dropped earlier, but your being way too over the top about it.
Pujara was the major factor in 2018/19 series win in AUS ....agreed. But he just played his part in 2021 series win ..that's all . So he won 1 series .
But at the cost of losing series after series on either side of that 2018/19 series.

Averaging a relatively poor 44 compared to his predecessor Dravid's 52.5 tells a lot. And Dravid scored 13289 runs compared to Pujara's 7200+.
Again dig deep into country wise stats of both players ..... the gap further widens alarmingly .it is an insult to the great Dravid that this shameless parasite occupied his spot.

Dravid is an ATG batsmen and played in a way more batting friendly era then pujara. Not saying Dravid would average 44 playing now, but he also wouldn't have averaged 52.

Dravid also had a grand total of 0 series victories in Australia, let alone series victories in which he played a critical part. The entitlement is honestly off the charts.

Having the type of batting lineups India and Australia did in 00s isn't really something that you can plan towards and create, they just happen. (Not to say that everything has been done well - just that it's pointless expecting a set of selectors to create a lineup with Tendulkar - Dravid - Laxman - Sehwag etc. at the same time)

It's an OTT post but Pujara, Rahane and to a lesser extent kohli being persisted with for this long really has been disgraceful. It's soured their reputation a ton in the eyes of a lot of Indian fans even though they've had really memorable careers. I don't think any country has had a middle order as poor as this and at the same time somehow as stable (in terms of selection) as this for a very very long time. So you're going to get some irrational hate from time to time.

The problem is Rahane stunk up from 2016 and should have really been replaced around 2017/18 by Rahul/Karun/Shreyas. Pujara stunk up from around 2018 and ideally should have had Gill replace him around 2019/20. Virat has been bad since 2020 and now Rohit has joined them from 2022.
