How was Bairstow’s situation given out?! Wasn’t the ball dead as soon as Carey caught it? He was clearly not trying to take a run…
The keeper released it at the stumps as soon as he caught it. Textbook stumping and should not have been any controversy

But stumping are generally made when the batsman is still in the throes of playing his shot. Very few are made when the batsman is wondering up to do gardening.
I've seen it happen before, and there's nothing about "in the process of playing a shot" in the rules tbf.

It's totally reasonable to say they shouldn't have appealed or they should have withdrawn it, or even that it was unsportsmanlike. I don't agree but whatever, perfectly valid opinions.

What's totally nonsense though is to claim:
1. That playing within rules you don't like is 'cheating'
2. That the umpire could possibly have not given it under the laws we have
3. That changing the laws to prevent it happening in future would be easy without just removing 'stumped' as a dismissal entirely

How does the Bairstow dismissal differ from the one where India ran out Ian Bell as he walked off for tea? They withdrew that appeal.

Mccullum has to go if England lose this series 4-0 or 5-0
I really hate most of what Bazball has become and the narrative surrounding it. I also just straight up don't like McCullum in general.

But having a captain and coach so immediately turn things around for a really struggling team and go on a hot streak of wins only to sack him the moment they lose a series just because it's the Ashes would be totally absurd. Over-focus on the Ashes has held England back as a Test team for as long as I can remember. It'd be totally nonsense to sack him after one series loss.

Wut? completely different. You mean the one where they thought it was a boundary and were wandering off for tea? For starters they are different modes of dismissal, this was a stumping and there was no misunderstading as to what happened or where the ball was
