In tests his 145kph plus bouncers will worry anyone, he just doesn’t have a good accurate stock ball to rely on when he can’t get swing

McGrath claimed on TMS that he doesn't really like bowling bouncers, he finds them unnatural for his rhythm. But he also pointed out that it helps him complete his action sometimes, so he should definitely pull his length back.

Frankly they all should. It looked horrible when they first went to it, especially with Green having all those run up problems, but it looked so much more likely and so much more threatening than the steady diet of half volleys they'd served up before. Unless Leeds looks like Day 1 2019 I really think they need to pull their lengths back in general.

Yeah well it won’t be easy to consistently bowl bouncers at that guys pace. But I really think he does need to change his role in the side to keep going on in tests, he hasn’t had a great last few years in tests now. And he has said he would like to play 100 tests. This short ball stuff really played to Englands ego and they holed out first. I don’t know if it works against other teams in the same situation they most likely wouldn’t play as attacking against it

also don’t forget everyone thought Aus total the 1st innings was good. And England were making a mockery of it halfway through their innings and then half this forum said the total wasn’t enough. Although England absolutely imploded after. If the wicket Does get flatter 450 is not out of reach to chase

Lords has a habit in recent series to become a road

problem is Aussies just have to bowl short for a couple of hours and it’s over

I agree. Poor England - first they won the toss and batted in perfect batting conditions in the first test, were forced to declare on day 1 with their best player in full command, and in the 2hd won the toss and bowled in perfect bowling conditions, before Australia's key bowler was injured and invalided out of the series. They're just not getting the breaks.

Agree with that.

I thought we were a touch unlucky at Edgbaston but not in this test.

We won the toss for a start and you've had the Lyon injury.

This test will be decided by our 1st innings implosion, which was completely self inflicted.

Not that it matters, but fielding a tail with broad at 8 when woakes is fit at lord's was an insane decision. Bloke averages 11 with the ball at this ground. Anderson's looked stiff as **** and the aussie bats have been putting miles in the bowlers legs. Playing broad, anderson and robinson for the second straight game with basically no turnaround between this and the third test is asking for an injury.
