He likes pitches with a bit more bounce and pace in them so he can leave on length and hit through the line (he's actually said as much during this Test match). Like many Australian batsmen of yore slow pitches are hard for them to deal with.

Anyway Aus will be breathing a sigh of relief they got through only two down there.
