Miller should have averaged more than Miller's 36.97

Apparently he wasn’t a hard bloke. i.e wouldn’t really try when the teams already smashing it. Doesn’t sound exactly ideal for an ATG XI where you could be dominating one moment and desperate the next.

That's not really unusual for all rounders though. Armstrong averaged 50 in the Shield too. And Benaud 36 in FC matches.

Green's batting this series and the WTC final has been so frustrating because he's done the hard work and found ways to get himself out, what, 3 times now? I can kind of excuse the first innings dismissal in the WTC cause he was just back from the IPL and has always struggled to swap mentally between formats, and the root dismissal cause it was a long-hop that deserved to be hit, but the jadeja dismissal in the second innings of the WTC, the chop-on dismissal in the first test and the hook shot in the second test where all just dozy pieces of cricket at important points. I think he's seeing the ball well, so hopefully he can get his **** sorted out mentally for the last 3 tests and get some runs.

Him not bowling seemed odd, but I think it's ended up as the right call given the situation with lyon. It's nice to have him fairly fresh bowling wise with murphy walking in for his first test in england and cummins most likely playing his 4th straight test on a 3 day turnaround.

I mean he had a bad game but if you ever needed a case for a top six fast bowling all-rounder this was it. We'd have been absolutely steamrollered if we only had three fit frontline bowlers on that pitch.

Ohh 100%. If we'de had to use head as the fourth bowler over green after the Lyon injury I feel like England would have gotten way closer here.

More just frustrated at how greens batted so far. There's been a few times where he's been set and had a game defining score there for the taking but threw it away.

Injured already. Given the depth of all rounders- we have now, he will struggle to retain his test spot long term now. His returns this ashes have been poor. He is not a test no. 6! He is at best a good gully fielder

Australia need to consider other all round options to try long term eg Aaron Hardie
