There will always be dropped catches, no-ball wickets and outstanding batting in a test match which will decide its course...what doesn't happen that often are meaningless declarations on a benign 1st day pitch when your best batsman was in blistering form and getting solid support from the lower order...
It’s how England play and you will see more of it

it’s really triggered people but if you watch England under stokes he does it.

it’s an irrelevant point as the real crimes were chances not taken

Didn’t like stokes tactics at all to the tail spamming short balls. Don’t get why he didn’t just get Anderson and broad on with the new ball and pitch up to see if there was swing and have the field up. There was easy runs to be had spreading the field out

Bazball won't be the same now, Root will not be playing those crazy reverse sweeps for some time.
Good point actually. Bazball’s success has been so dependent on Root Bradmaning it over the last year, if Root were to start doubting it the whole deck of cards could come down.

It's arrogant to think 393 is a comfortable enough score on which to be confident of winning. You don't need a wicket on day 1 after batting first and putting together a decent score. If doesn't take four days to bowl a team out twice. If it does, you don't deserve to win. All Stokes did was increase his chances of losing a close match by chosing to forgoe scoring opportunities.

Second word Arrogant

You said nobody was saying it

England lost by an Innings to an SA lineup that had no batsmen and lost that follow on game vs NZ but didn't stop playing their way. This loss isn't gonna suddenly rewrite their way of playing.
It clearly works, it just needs a little fine tuning at times. As Nasser said, they need to be a little 'cuter' against Lyon, too many soft wickets there.

But hard to imagine they won't play similarly at Lord's and be ultra competitive again.
