Yeah that's obviously a massive missed opportunity. But if you pick a tail with three #11s in it that's what happens.

Can’t even get a lead on this deck when we gave up the end of our innings to give them a chance. And Burgey said these clowns would win at a canter

That was a pretty awful effort from the Aus batting in these conditions. Everyone except Usman and Carey failed massively and should be embarassed.

Good sign for the rest of the series because they've used up their **** up trial knocks and it's all business now. Aus could chase 450 2 down if needed here

Marnus getting out first ball was key, really. Khawaja, Carey and Head (and Cummins I guess lol) did their jobs but I don't think anyone else did which is a problem.

TBF England was kind of similar with most of the runs coming from Bairstow, Root and Crawley.
I mean 50, 38, 66 from the middle order on this pudding when the bowling wasn't super-threatening is definitely disappointing. One of those three converts the start and Australia are well in front.

That chicken hearted Robinson fired up as soon as Khawaja went. Straight from the Tim Southee school of phoning it in.

KP wanking over England dismissing this tail is kind of pathetic.

Truth is Boland and Hazlewood are rank #11's at Test level and Lyon isn't much better. Even Cummins has been in poor batting form.

Also now that both sides have batted now can we see that this pitch absolutely ****ing sucks and has no business being rolled out in a Test match in England?
Nobody said otherwise, but us stiff upper lip Englishmen didn’t feel the need to cry about it every time a run was scored
