Yeah I could have understood it if Afghanistan were playing in the WC Qualifiers and he needed a rest for that, but his exclusion against a team they could beat if he were playing is really disappointing.

Although its green now but its gonna flat out from day two onwards and help spinners from day three post lunch. I dont mind batting first here given batting last will be more difficult due wear and tear nature of mirpur pitch

This could be an important Test for Shanto. He's done nothing since his ton in Sri Lanka a couple of years ago and his overall record is frankly awful (he's played half his Tests at home and averages 14 in this games). I reckon Joy has much more upside as a red ball player.
